FAQ

So wait...what is this program exactly?

The Audacity Project is an online mentorship course in professional and creative development for working artists, and artists who want to be working.  We use an intensive format to excavate your authentic artistic values and desires, identify the blocks in your path, then we set to building bridges over them.  I use the vehicle of building (or re-building) your promotional materials to get to the heart of who you are as an artist, who you want to be, and where you want to go.  Then we build you a map to get there.  This course is designed to empower you from the inside out- it is not for the faint of heart.

Do you have to be located in the SF Bay Area to participate?

I hope not because I don't live there anymore.  So, no way!  TAP is a 100% online course.  We communicate via weekly emails, video courses, and a private Facebook group.  You'll have the support of your peers as well as those who have gone through the program previously, and receive weekly assignments and resources to help you.  We have a wonderfully supportive, growing group of active participants from countries all over the world.

Will The Audacity Project be offered on an ongoing basis?

Cycles are offered in the spring and in the fall.  The BEST way to know about it is to get on the waitlist!  Join the waitlist on the main page to be the first to know when a cycle is open for enrollment.

What kind of assignments are we talking about?

We work our way through 10 modules for the 8-week series.

  • Your Product - getting crystal clear on your goals

  • Your Image - getting beautiful photos

  • Your Work - what do you WANT to be doing

  • Your Presentation - what does it look like?

  • Your Community - identifying your people

  • Your Elevator Pitch - rewriting your bio strategically

  • Your Resume - getting this sparkling clean

  • Your Market (pts I and II) - knowing how to price your work

  • Your Reel - creating video representation

  • Your Website - putting it all together

One of the highlights of the program is that you come away with promotional materials you not only love, but that can stand the test of time.  Move easy through your world knowing that you put in the time and effort to get your materials to work for you- not the other way around.

But more valuable than that- you will come away with an understanding of who you want to be as an artist, a polished idea of what you want to do, how to get it, who to get it from, and how much to charge for it.  Boom.

Oh, and you get lifelong access to these modules for as long as I'm kickin it on the interwebs.

What else is involved?

If you're not sure if the program is a great fit, you can always schedule a 15 minute consult call with me.  If we're a good fit for each other, I'll send you a link to the course.  There is an introductory lecture already available for you from the moment you enroll.

Each cycle includes unlimited 1:1 support by me via WhatsApp, two 30 minute 1:1 video check-ins, focused and tested weekly assignments, supportive materials, weekly video lectures and Q & A, and access to a private, world-wide community of creatives who have gone through the project or are going through it with you.

Is this course just for aerialists?

NO!  I originally made this course for circus professionals, and it has organically grown to work beautifully for all flavors of freelance creatives, whether recreational or professional.  I've worked successfully with:

  • playwrights

  • visual artists

  • musicians

  • writers

  • jugglers

  • dancers

  • coaches

  • designers

How do I know if this is right for me?

These are the things I look for in applicants before I offer them a space:

  1. Basic competence in your discipline.  I believe everyone has a capacity for excellence, but all I'm looking for is competence.  It's part of my job to steer you towards excellence.

  2. The ability to pay for the program without hurting your quality of life.  $1,197 is the cost for 8 weeks of personalized focus and resources tested for their potency. ($1,097 if paid upfront)

  3. Access to a computer and the internet, and basic computer literacy.

  4. Be willing and able to brave the wild unknown, the scary monsters in the closet, to do your own work and take responsibility for your progress.  This is the most important requirement.  I will coach my ass off, but I will not do the work for you.  Cause I don't believe in stealing people's money, or their power.

If you're not sure, write me!

Can't I do all this on my own?

Of course you can.  What this course is is a self-propelled natural progression which would normally take anywhere from 8 months to a year, compacted into 8 weeks, with someone (me) snapping at your heels for accountability, and giving you all the tools and support I have amassed over 10+ years of research and experience.

But don't take my word for it...
